The History of Sit

1953

Pierluigi and Giancarlo de’ Stefani establish SIT La Precisa, a company operating in precision mechanics, in Padova (Italy).

1974

Continuous growth leads to open the first foreign subsidiary, in The Netherlands. The other European subsidiaries follow shortly (UK, France, Turkey, Poland, Germany, Czech Rep).

1983

SIT goes global starting direct operations in Australia with the Melbourne subsidiary.

1989

Expansion continues with the opening of the U.S. subsidiary. SIT sells the first electronic board for gas appliances.

1997

Starting of direct operations in China with the Shanghai subsidiary.

1999

SIT acquires ENCON, a Dutch company manufacturing electronic boards for gas appliances.

2000

New production plants start manufacturing in Monterrey (Mexico) and Shanghai (China).

2001

SIT diversifies acquiring OMVL, an Italian company operating in the automotive business.

2002

OP Controls, Italian company operating in gas control devices, joins SIT.

2003

Opening of the subsidiary in Argentina.

2004

SIT acquires Natalini, an Italian company manufacturing fans and flue exhaust kits.

2005

Expansion of the production site in Rovigo up to 17.000 sq.m.

2006

New production plant starts manufacturing in Brasov, Romania.

2009

Expansion of the production site in Hoogeveen, The Netherlands
The company MeteRSit has been established to offer Gas Utilities a new generation of remotely controlled smart gas meters.

2012

New production plant in Suzhou (China)

2013

Expansion of the production site in Brasov, Romania.

2015

Merger of SIT La Precisa with the Italian subsidiaries Gasco, Imer and Natalini: SIT s.p.a. is born
Metersit Romania has been established to accelerate the growth ofSmart Gas Metering.

2017

SIT lands on AIM Italia thanks to a business combination with SPAC * INDSTARS 2 through the merger by incorporation of INDSTARS 2 into SIT and the subsequent admission to listing of SIT’s ordinary shares and warrants. * Special Purpose Acquisition Company

2018

Merger with the SPAC Industrial Stars of Italy 2 and simultaneous admission to trading on the AIM Italia segment (20.7.2017)

SIT shares and warrants have begun trading on the Mercato Telematico Azionario – MTA (now Euronext Milan) by Borsa Italiana.

2020

Opening of a hub in Tunisia for the production of electronic and plastic components and the assembly of SIT products

Acquisition of the Portuguese Janz and entry into the water meters business
